Mile 1

 

Mile 1 is open January 1st thru August 31st.

Please follow Hwy C from September 1st thru December 31st.

The Southern Terminus of the Timm's Hill Trail is on Hwy C in Taylor County, where the trail connects with the Ice Age Trail and the Rib Lake Ski & Snowshoe Trails.  The Southern Terminus features:

  • Two off-road parking lots
  • Kiosks with trail information
  • Mile Post Zero
  • Picnic tables
  • Interpretive signs that explain the glacial geography and logging history of the area
  • Rustic camp sites
  • Klostermann Creek Bridge
  • Historic site of Camp 6, a logging camp operated by the Rib Lake Lumber Company around 1905

In the summer, the THT follows Hwy C north for mile and then Rustic Road #1 west for mile.  It heads back into the woods at the gate on the north side of Rustic Road #1 and follows the Old Tote Road north to Mile Post #1.

In the winter, the first half mile of the THT is also part of the "Beginner Blue Ski Loop" on the Rib Lake Ski & Snowshoe Club TrailsThe THT then turns off the "Blue Loop" and heads north across Rustic Road #1 and follows the Old Tote Road north to Mile Post #1.
